Mother Smiles in Court as She’s Found Guilty of Killing her Daughter by Slamming a Crucifix Down Her Throat

An Oklahoma woman has been convicted of killing her 33-year-old daughter by forcing a crucifix and medallion down her throat because she believed she was possessed by the devil.

Juanita Gomez, 51, was found guilty of first-degree murder on Thursday in the gruesome 2016 death of her daughter Geneva Gomez.

Jurors recommended a sentence of life in prison without parole.

Police were called to Gomez’s home in Oklahoma City in August 2016 after the victim’s boyfriend came across her bruised and bloodied body lying on the floor
