Beaumont, CA – Detectives from the Beaumont Police Department conducted an investigation into allegations of a sexual relationship between a student and a local high school teacher. During the investigation, the victim recently disclosed to detectives there has been unlawful sexual intercourse occurring for the past few months by a teacher who works at the Beaumont High School. The investigation further revealed there were inappropriate communications between the teacher and student through various messaging platforms.
The teacher is identified as Samantha Lee Ciotta, 32 YOA, of Banning; CA. CIOTTA was previously placed on administrative leave by the Beaumont Unified School District while the Beaumont Police Department conducted an investigation. CIOTTA was arrested at approximately 2:52pm on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, in the City of Banning. CIOTTA was later booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning for unlawful sexual intercourse and oral copulation with a minor.
The Beaumont Unified School District has fully cooperated with the Beaumont Police Department during this investigation.
A Beaumont High School English teacher was arrested Wednesday on allegations that she been having a sexual relationship with a student for the past several months, according to Beaumont police.
Samantha Lee Ciotta, 32, of Banning, was booked into jail on suspicion of having unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and oral copulation with someone under 18. She was released Thursday on $150,000 bail, jail records show.

Ciotta had already been placed on administrative leave by the Beaumont Unified School District during the police investigation, authorities said. A district spokeswoman declined to say what date the leave began.
The student came forward to police within the past week, Beaumont police spokeswoman Mercedes McFayden said.
The student told detectives “there has been unlawful sexual intercourse occurring for the past few months,” police said in a news release. Investigators also found Ciotta and the student had “inappropriate communications … through various messaging platforms.”
Ciotta was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Banning.
In a statement confirming Ciotta was on leave, the school district said it is cooperating with police and was limited by privacy laws on what officials could say.
