Texas Teacher Pleads Guilty to Sex With Two 17-Year-Olds, But WON’T Have to Register as a Sex Offender!

A former teacher from Westlake High School in Austin, Texas pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of an improper relationship with a student, but will likely get probation and will not have to register as a sex offender.

29-year-old Haeli Way was arrested in December of 2015 for having sex with two 17-year-old boys.

She’s expected to get probation when she’s sentenced on March 10th.

Texas’ legal age of consent is 17, but it’s illegal for teachers to have sex with students.

She was allegedly involved in two separate months-long relationships with male students at the school.

The crimes occurred during the summer and fall of 2015.

She’d met the first boy at a student ministry program in June of that year, and later that summer, went with him and his family to Africa.

While on that trip she and the victim had sex about ten times.

That relationship only ended when he learned that the teacher had gone out with another student.

That first teen eventually told his parents about the relationship with her, while the second victim says they engaged in “sexual contact” while out on their date.

She was fired from her job in late October and voluntarily surrendered her teacher certification on December 15th.
