A couple in Jackson Township, Ohio were arrested after the body of their five-year-old daughter, previously reported missing, was found in their Chinese restaurant.
At roughly 9 p.m. this past Monday, Mingming Chen called to report her daughter, five-year-old Ashley Zhao, missing.
She told them that she’d last seen her a few hours prior in the restaurant that her family owns.
A search for Ashley by locals and law enforcement was called off when young Ashley’s body was found “deceased and concealed” in the eating establishment.
After she was found, the jig was up. It turns our that Ms. Chen had purportedly punched her daughter repeatedly in the head. Ashley’s father, Liang Zhao, then found her on the ground with a green liquid coming from her mouth.
When he went to clean her up, he found that she wasn’t breathing and attempted CPR. His efforts proved fruitless.
MingmingChen was arrested and charged with murder and felonious assault, while Liang Zhao was charged with complicity to commit felonious assault and complicity to murder.
